What is PharmaCircle?  PharmaCircle is a best in class knowledge management company that provides a one stop source for all information needs within the Pharmaceutical industry. PharmaCircle provides a detailed analysis of drug delivery technologies, marketed products/pipeline, deals, acquisitions, and venture capital. PharmaCircle also provides detailed company related information such as employee numbers, R&D spending, product sales, product development costs, royalties and more. The data within PharmaCircle is searchable and exportable into user defined charts and graphs.

What is the History of PharmaCircle?  PharmaCircle was founded by Dr. Tugrul Kararli in 2003 (see biography of Dr. Kararli). During the first years of its formation PharmaCircle’s coverage included only the information and analysis relating to the drug delivery industry.   In the last 2 years, PharmaCircle expanded its content to cover all information and analysis relating to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.

Short Biography of Dr. T. Kararli: Dr. Kararli received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Florida in 1984 and MBA from DePaul University in 1999.  Dr. Kararli spent 18 years at Searle/Pharmacia and held various positions and responsibilities within the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department participating in pharmaceutics, product development, life cycle management, drug delivery technology selection and management activities.  As the Chairman of the Global Drug Delivery Technology Team, he was responsible for identifying, planning and executing drug delivery technology strategies for marketed and development products for Searle/Pharmacia.  Dr. Kararli has authored 20 research articles on various aspects of pharmaceutics and drug delivery and holds more than 13 US and international patents.

Who is Part of the PharmaCircle Staff:  PharmaCircle has 15 full time analysts with pharmaceutical/ biological/ chemical/ engineering sciences backgrounds (many with graduate level education).  Majority of the analysts are responsible for updating pipeline, products and company related information.  PharmaCircle has 4 full time integrated IT personal (supported by e-quality) who are responsible for implementing data base infrastructure, new technology development, data retrieval ,  data presentation,  server management and maintenance.  Director Mr. Kurt Sedo is the most senior manager within the PharmaCircle organization.   Mr. Sedo joined PharmaCircle in 2003. Prior to joining PharmaCircle, Mr. Sedo spent 12 years in Pharmaceutical Product Development at Searle/Pharmacia.  Mr.  Sedo oversees all PharmaCircle operations and is also responsible for preparing and updating the drug delivery content of PharmaCircle.  

What are the Sources for the Data? The information contained within PharmaCircle is sourced entirely from public, non-confidential sources such as daily news/press releases, quarterly and annual financial reports, company and investor presentations, clinical trial records (clinicaltrials.gov), symposia posters and presentations, published and issued patents, direct communications with companies, company web sites, product labels, regulatory body websites (e.g. FDA) and scientific publications.  When available, the sources of the information (news articles, Pubmed publications, product labels, etc) are hyperlinked as a reference.

How Often the Data in PharmaCircle is Updated? The frequency of updates varies from daily to quarterly. The daily news is the largest source of data/information relating to the public as well as the private companies.  PharmaCircle follows over 1500 news stories monthly from 5000 companies.  PharmaCircle’s semi-automated news retrieval process continuously receives RSS feeds from company web sites and relevant news sources.   These RSS feeds are monitored on a continuous basis by our analysts and the relevant information (product&pipeline related details, deals, technologies, etc.) are updated on the same or the next day.   For public companies, all relevant data available from the quarterly and annual financial releases (profile, sales, deals, product/pipeline updates, partnerships) are updated within the same quarter and typically within a few weeks of release.  For private companies, PharmaCircle analysts review the web sites of private companies every quarter to update the information in addition to the daily news updates.  Information from patents is also used frequently to update technologies (drug delivery and discovery) as well as pipeline and products.   

The FDA related content is updated using an automated process every week for any new information and data. 

Drug delivery reviews are written by the President and Founder of PharmaCircle, Dr. Tugrul T. Kararli. An average review takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months.  The reviews are then updated regularly by Kurt Sedo, Director of PharmaCircle, or Dr. Esay Okutgen (a PharmaCircle analyst with a Ph.D in Pharmaceutics) as the data becomes available.   The drug delivery technology Compare and Contrast Tables are prepared and updated by T. Kararli, K. Sedo and E. Okutgen.

How does PharmaCircle Provide Support for their Customers?
